Hypothyroidism
Most of my patients who come to me have classic symptoms of hypothyroidism, but with normal “TSH” in the blood. Thyroid problems are a commonly misdiagnosed problem. Most of the time these patients have low body temperature. I strongly believe that saliva TSH and saliva cortisol levels are more accurate than blood levels.
Most often, these patients are dramatically helped by Armours Thyroid or Cytomel.
If cortisol levels are low, then the patient likely has adrenal fatigue and it must be treated before Cytomel is given.
Wilson’s Syndrome is a form of hypothyroidism and is treated in a special way. It is typically found in Native Americans, and people of Irish or Polish origin.
Hypothyroidism can cause compensatory Hypercholestrolemia and contributes to heart disease. In all cases of heart disease, one must do “TSH”.
